LG upset many of their users by announcing an early release of Android 6.0 Marshmallow for LG G4 by October, and then later postpones the update due to technical issues. As understandable as the situation may be, there are those who just cannot wait to get their hands on the new firmware.
9to5 Google reports that an Android Marshmallow stock ROM has been developed by XDA developers and is now available for download online. To use it, users will need to have the H815 model of the phone and the instructions necessary to manually install TWRP.
XDA developer, Autoprime, is the person LG G4 users have to thank for making the TWRP-flashable stock ROM. Autoprime has also uploaded the KDZ files, though it is more tedious for users with no technical knowledge when it comes to installing stock ROM firmware, says International Business Times.
Autoprime also further warns that notifications may not work with all Google applications. To be able to check for possible missed notifications go to Settings> battery/energy saving> battery consumption> ignore optimization.
Users in the XDA thread who have gotten into installing the stock ROM version of Android 6.0 to their G4 devices have said that it is pretty much identical to the previous Lollipop build and has little to no difference.
Instructions are tedious, but are laid out well and properly in the forum posted in XDA Developers. Of course a few extra requirements are asked to those who want to take the leap into the Android 6.0 clone. For instance, users who want to give it a shot must have TWRP 2.8.7+ installed to use these files.
LG followers may remember that the Poland-based tech builder promised that its users will be getting the update sooner than competitors. With the delay, Australia Network says that the launch may be pushed back to as far as early next year.
