Jurassic World 2 is underway and World War Z sequel director J.A. Bayona was considered to take the film's directorial position. A new video has also surfaced online showing Jurassic Park references and shots in the recent film.
With the box office success of the first film, it did not take long for a sequel to be announced. As development for the plot continues, Screen Rant reported that Universal and Legendary are not wasting time and have started the search for a director. Recently, they have laid their eyes on World War Z 2 director, J.A. Bayona.
Bayona's responsibilities for World War Z 2 kept him from going on board for Jurassic World 2, although, it was also revealed that the offer to Bayona has led to a decision by Paramount to keep the director happy which many speculate could be an increase in his pay or more creative freedom in the project.
Moreover, a new video has been turning heads recently as it features scenes and shots from the recent film and its similarities with the shots in the previous Jurassic Park Trilogy. As reported by Cinema Blend, the video was uploaded on Vimeo by username "whoispablo", and showed different shots that bore resemblance that could have contributed to why the film felt a little more familiar, aside from the fact that B.D. Wong's Dr. Henry Wu was also the villain in the film.
Plot details for the upcoming Jurassic World 2 is presently scarce, although, actress Bryce Dallas Howard previously confirmed that development is to be expected from her character, Claire. As reported by We Got This Covered, she also revealed that she will no longer run for her life wearing heels in the sequel and will ditch the material in exchange of a more appropriate and comfortable footwear.
Aside from Bryce Dallas Howard, Chris Pratt is expected to return in Jurassic World 2 to reprise his role as Owen. Patrick Crowley and Frank Marshall are set to produce the film. It is currently slated to hit theaters in June 22, 2018.
