Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro Receives Certification In China, Could Be The First Xiaomi Handset To Reach US

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro that is believed to be released this month has recently received a certification in China. This phablet might be the Chinese tech giant's hope to regain its title from Huawei and is also speculated to be the first Xiaomi's handset to reach U.S.

According to Christian Post, seeing Redmi note 2 Pro in the 3C certification in China seems to indicate that the device's release may be happening soon. Furthermore, it has been rumored before that this handset might arrive in two variants; one with fingerprint sensor and the other one don't have. But during China's certification, the device has been cited with three different model numbers. As of the moment, there is no information yet about the difference between these models.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro is speculated to feature a 5.5-inch screen with full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. Under its chassis, will be an octa-core Helio X10 processor that will work with 2 GB of RAM. If this handset is same as the Note 2 smartphone, it will most likely offer 32 GB of internal storage space which is expandable via microSD support. The Redmi note 2 Pro's camera will be a 13-megapixel rear-facing shooter and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. As for its software, it will run the latest MIUI7 on top of Android Lollipop.

Furthermore, International Business Times reported that Xiaomi's President Bin Lin stated that there is a possibility that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro might be sold directly in the U.S. It is worth knowing that the Chinese tech giant has been selling unlocked international variants in the U.S. for a couple of years now.

When it comes to the Xiaomi Redmi note 2 Pro's price, Android Headlines stated that the 2GB RAM variant of this smartphone will be priced at 1,099 Yuan ($173), while the 3GB RAM model will cost 1,499 Yuan ($236).These prices were based on the leaked specifications and features of the device and are not yet confirmed.

Although there is no specific date when Xiaomi will release the Redmi Note 2 Pro, it might be just around the corner as it alread has its Chinese Certification. Either way, excited buyers of the handset must stay tuned until the official details about the device will be announced.
