Xiaomi will soon be unveiling another flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2. This device is believed to be the first full metal handset made by the Chinese tech giant. Mi Note 2 is also expected to sport the newest ultrasonic fingerprint scanner technology.
According to Digital Trends, the original Mi Note was unveiled at the start of this year and it is also expected that the Mi Note 2 will be launched around the same time. Even though Xiaomi has changed the design into all-metal, it is believed that there will be no changes in the screen size.
IBTimes cited the features and specifications that Xiami Mi Note 2 might sport. This handset will feature a 5.7-inch 1440 x 2560 touchscreen display and pixel density of 515 ppi. It will be engineered with the forthcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset. But then, there are also speculations that since the Snapdragon 820 is not yet released, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 could be powered by a MediaTek MT6797 Helio X20 chip instead. The new chip will work hand-in-hand with a deca-core CPU. Furthermore, this gadget is believed to have two versions and the second one could come powered by Snapdragon 820 chip, with a release date set in 2016.
The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is speculated to come armored with 4 GB of RAM. As for its memory specification, the phone will come armed with 32 GB of internal storage space. However, as of the moment there is no information yet available on the microSD card slot. The Xiaomi's newest flagship will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, as it comes out of the box. For the device's camera, it will be sporting 16-megapixel rear-facing camera.
Moreover, Latinos Post said on its article that the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will be having an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner by Qualcomm. The "Snapdragon Sense ID" uses ultrasonic waves to authenticate fingerprints in 3D. The newest technology by Qualcomm has the ability to record even the outer layers of skin. It molds three-dimensional details of fingerprint characteristics such as fingerprint ridges and sweat pores placement. This technology makes it close to impossible for invaders to gain access to "Snapdragon Sense ID" devices.
As the release of the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is forthcoming, a lot of speculations are continuously arising. But then, none of these were confirmed by the Chinese tech giant yet. Hopefully, the company will at least give a few hints about the upcoming device in its October 19 event.
