Google has released a new security update concerning 23 vulnerabilities including two main critical issues for Android. These were identified as CVE-2015-6608 and CVE-2015-6609. In which, the media servers have the capacity to be remotely activated via media files that contain malicious intent.

ZD Net noted that developers rated the new discovery as critical because the vulnerability targets the core part of the Android software. Tech Times also said that hackers can easily invade the phone through email, MMS messages and playing certain media in the Internet browser. Media processing components is believed to be the point of entry for hackers or any malicious software.

Related reports also mentioned that part of their strategy is sending monthly security updates to Android devices. This regular update embeds anti-exploitation systems to allow Android users to be safe. The monthly updates are made possible through the collaboration of three smartphone companies such as Samsung, LG and Google. Though, HTC seems to have no decision yet regarding its issuance of monthly security update over its customers.

In addition, The Verge noted that this is the fourth month since the smartphone companies decided to issue regular update. On the other hand, Trend Micro, System Security Lab, and Keen Team, as well as Google's internal security teams have worked together to be able to produce a patch for the newly discovered vulnerabilities in Android devices, the report added. To look back in the history, it was few months ago when the Stagefright bug virus came into the picture and affected almost all Android devices.

Google with other smartphone companies continue to issue a regular OTA for security updates in Android devices. More so, the developers involved in the security patches of the Stagefright bug virus continue to determine its vulnerabilities and issues to provide safety for its customers.
