Captain Jack is back and fans will once again see his adventures and misadventures and this time he is in search of Poseidon's trident. With Kaya Scodelario and Brenton Thwaites boarding as the film's possible new love team, the upcoming "Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tells No Tales' pits the fan-favorite captain and his mates against a horde of ghost pirates while achieving their quest.
According to MasterHerald, this movie is not a reboot but rather a redirection to its roots since the last two movies differed in some elements from the first two installments. Though all four films made it big in the box office, the last two installments did not earn as big as "The Curse of the Black Pearl" and "Dead Man's Chest". Franchises are usually cutoff as box office records dwindle.
In a previous interview, Kaya Scodelario, playing the role of Carina Smyth, talked about the movie as having a lot more of the first film. She said the producers want to take the fans into another epic adventure just like how the franchise started off. This is a smart move if the producers want the fifth film to break box office records.
The film will be missing Keira Knightley's swashbuckling Elizabeth Swan but fans can look forward to Carina Smyth which might show some parallelism to the beloved character. Smyth is an astronomer in search of Poseidon's Trident. According to Scodelario, as Smyth journeys into the sea, she will encounter Captain Jack who would off course, mess things up.
Ghost pirates and a captain out to destroy all pirates. Moviepilot reports that Captain Jack is about to face off with Captain Salazar and his ghostly horde. The evil captain will be portrayed by Javier Bardem(Skyfall). Once again, another villain, pissed off and out to get revenge on the crazy, eclectic but lovable Jack Sparrow.
Aside from Kaya Scodelario, an exciting addition to this powerhouse ensemble is Brenton Thwaites who plays Henry, the grown up son of Will and Elizabeth. Movie News Guide notes there are rumors that Henry and Carina will have a romantic relationship much like that of Will and Elizabeth.
A pirate captain leading an evil ghost horde in search of vengeance, an epic journey to find a mythical spear used by the god of the sea himself, a new romantic relationship with exciting character plots, crazy pirates and at the middle of it all, Captain Jack sparrow - this movie has enough elements to to become another great "Pirates" hit. If this happens, then the future of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise is as wide as the seven seas and fans will see more of Captain Jack in the coming years.
