The Transformers franchise is moving ahead with the upcoming Transformers 5, and Akiva Goldsman recently said that he feels there is "great interaction" between Transformers and humans. Hasbro President Stephen Davis also confirmed more installments to come in the franchise.
While official plot details remain to be undisclosed, writer Akiva Goldsman talked about the relationship between the humans and Transformers in the franchise. "Do I think Transformers can live without humans? Sure. Do I think humans can live without Transformers? Sure", Goldsman said as reported by International Business Times.
"In Transformers movies? Sure! But, fundamentally, there seems to be something really great about the interaction between the two species. I think that, in the main, I would suggest that that would be something you wouldn't want to squander. Although that doesn't mean that you couldn't do all sorts of things for a little while", he added.
A writers' room was revealed to have been created for the film. Although it was initially thought to be solely for Transformers 5, Movie Pilot reported that it could have been for the franchise's long term plan.
During the MIP Junior Conference 2015, Hasbro's Stephen Davis confirmed that they have plotted out the next 10 years for the franchise. He also revealed that Transformers 5 will not be the last film in the franchise as Transformers 6,7, and 8 will be released eventually.
Furthermore, pertaining to the film's plot Movie News Guide reported that two story arcs could be explored in the movie. One is Mark Wahlberg's Cade Yearger's adventure in trying to save the world from Dinobots and Autobots. Another one could reportedly be Optimus Prime's journey in finding the Quintessons.
Aside from that, novel robots Red Alert, Override, Blitzwing, Cyclonus, and Scourge are also rumored to appear in the film as well, however until official details are revealed these speculations remain to be fan-based. No director and roster of actors have been officially sealed for Transformers 5 slated to release in 2017.
