It is close, yet it is still far, that is the irony for fans of the highly popular Japanese anime based on a manga from the same title Attack on Titan Season 2. New updates emerged for the premiere of the series. Shingeki no Kyojin is set to return on the second half of 2016. The 104th Trainees Squad fights among themselves.
The extensive publicity and promotion of the premiere for Attack of Titan Season 2 led to numerous news and speculations. According to Christian Post, Attack on Titan anime series director Tetsuro Araki finally confirmed that indeed 2016 is the year for the dark fantasy action horror animation series. However, the exact date for the premiere is still quite elusive.
The leaked video circulating the internet confirms that Attack on Titan Season 2 is currently on production. However, Movie News Guide published that Attack on Titan Season 2 could be the final for the anime series.The news surfaced when the manga series editor announced that the creative team was almost finished with the entire plot for the series.
Additionally, the basis for the anime series Shingeki no Kyojin manga series has completed 60% of the whole chapters. The entire story is set for completion within three years.
Meanwhile, the 104th Trainees Squad members Mikasa Ackerman, Reiner Braun, Bertolt Hoover, Annie Leonhart, Eren Yeager, Jean Kirstein, Marco Bott, Connie Springer, Sasha Blouse, Krista Lenz, and other will continue battling the brutal human eater Titans. The first few episodes for Season 2 will pick up the cliffhanger from the previous season.
Realty Today noted that Attack on Titan Season 2 will be more shocking as the team will discover they are fighting with one of their own. The upcoming anime will unfold the story behind the great walls and the monstrous Titans. News emerge on Levi's death and arrival of additional characters including Captain Kenny Ackerman, Rod Reiss, the Beast Titan, Uri Reiss and Frieda Reiss.
Season 2 will also introduce new breed of powerful and intelligent Titans, described as an ape Titan. The mystery behind the Armored Titans and Colossal Titans will also be unveiled in this season. The team will be able to strategize on defeating the Titans.
"The Uprising" episode will evolve on the political aspect of anime, a potential coup d'état. The discovery of the royal Reiss family's ability to transform into Titans will add weight to the issues of the state. Eren will be faced with different struggles as morality pitted against deception of the leaders.
Attack on Titan will return for Season 2 sometime in 2016.
