The American post - apocalyptic drama television series, The Last Ship, has been renewed for a third season to survive yet another more global disasters. Stars Bridget Regan, Fernando Chien, Dichen Lachman, and Elisabeth Rohm to join the cast for Season 3. Location wise, the series will explore scenes outside the ship as story focuses on the construction of recovering America.
The open ended Season 2 finale was the perfect way to close the second season 2, at the same time a prologue for the third season. In an interview by The Hollywood Reporter with showrunners Steve Kane and Hank Steinberg, the two revealed the finale plot was intentional so as to keep viewers interested for Season 3. While Season 2 focused on the civil wars brought about the post - apocalyptic events in America, Season 3 will revolve around rebuilding the country, fixating outside the navy world.
Vine Report recently published the inclusion of actors Bridget Regan, Fernando Chien, and Dichen Lachman for the upcoming season 3 of The Last Ship. All three will have a crucial role with protagonists Rhona Mitra (Dr. Rachel Scott), Adam Baldwin (XO Mike Slattery), and Eric Dane (CO CDR Tom Chandler) try to pick up pieces and make America a better place to live in. Bridget Regan, best known for her role as Rose in Jane the Virgin, will play the character of Sasha. Sasha will be sent to China as an undercover agent to help America with its rebuilding processes.
Christian Post shared Fernando Chien who stars in Ray Donovan will take the part of Peng. Peng takes over China after the global catastrophe and will be dealing a lot with Sasha. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D graduate Dichen Lachman will be Jesse, a skilled helicopter pilot and often referred to as "off the grid."
Law & Order alumna Elisabeth Rohm is also set to join the series as Allison Shaw, a strong and brilliant Chief of Staff to President Michener (Mark Moses). Whether Allison Shaw will appear a guest or recurring character is yet to be settled.
The Last Ship Season 3 is currently on production and scheduled to air on 2016 exclusively on TNT.
