"Bates Motel" Season 4 spoilers have been released and it includes Norma possibly having a new love interest in the show's upcoming episodes. According to multiple reports, it might be with Sheriff Romero.
According to International Business Times, the A&E series could see Norma Bates and Sheriff Romero developing into a more romantic relationship as the actor who plays the role of the latter, Nestor Carbonell, teased about such possibility. Carbonell was at the Walker Stalker Con in Atlanta and he shared, "For my part, whether anything is going to happen with Norma, she's a frustrating woman, that's all I've got to say. She's a tough one. She's a tough nut to crack so we'll see what happens there."
In the previous episodes, Norma and the sheriff are always hot and cold when it comes to their romance so it is still unknown if the speculations are true. In "Bates Motel" Season 3 finale, Romero killed Bob Paris as he wanted to keep Norma safe.
In a report by Design & Trend, however, it was said that a former character, Gregg Edwards, will be coming back on "Bates Motel" Season 4. It is also possible that he will be the new love interest of Norma.
Christianity Daily also shared that "Bates Motel" Season 4 will see Norman Bates transforming more into his counterpart. Executive Producer Carlton Cuse shared, "For the first three seasons of the show, we have watched in a slow, progressive way his development of becoming the guy he is going to become. At the end of the third season of the show, he really becomes unhinged in a different way he had before. That really sets up a different version of the Norman that we know from the movie."
"Bates Motel" Season 4 is expected to air sometime in 2016 and fans will get to see in the upcoming episodes that Norma will have a new love interest while her son Norman will develop into a more psychotic character.
