Jackson, a seasoned stuntwoman for lead actress Milla Jovovich, suffered near-fatal injuries after crashing her motorcycle during filming of a scene for the latest and final installment in the horror-action franchise. According to IGN, Jovovich said, "I wasn't personally there to witness it, but from the reports I got, it was awful... None of us have experienced anything like this in our careers making action films and hope we never do again, but the production reacted very quickly to ensure she received the best care..."
The renowned stunt performer worked on several blockbuster hits during the span of her career including 'Guardians of the Galaxy', 'Mad Max: Fury Road', 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' and the upcoming 'Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens'.
According to Gamespot, Jackson was placed under a medical-induced coma following severe injuries after colliding with a camera crane on set of Resident Evil: The Final Chapter. A post on the injuries was released by a friend detailing Jackson's injuries and included a graphic account of broken bones, severed arteries and nerves, a paralyzed arm and an amputated thumb. The stuntwoman then came out of the coma after a while and posted a message on her Facebook thanking people of their prayers and support.
