Fallout 4 Pre-orders Need Some Redownloading, Owners May Have Downloaded Incorrect Stub File

Unluckily for Xbox One users, who have pre-ordered "Fallout 4" and spent hours downloading the game, they will have to go through the same process all over again. Reports have it that it was all due to a wrong "stub file" included.

According to IGN, those Xbox One players who pre-ordered "Fallout 4" prior to October 27 in order to play the game upon its release will find the need to redownload the game. It is believed that a wrong "stub file" was included, and Bethesda acknowledged the shortcoming by posting an announcement to its forum.

However, as noted by Tech Times, players can still download the full "Fallout 4" before its release as the game is pre-loaded and activated for gameplay on Tuesday. However, only those Xbox One users who have utilized the "Instant On" power mode are able to automatically acquire the new game update. Otherwise, those users may still have the incorrect "stub file," which is basically a placeholder file, for the title. Nonetheless, if players still have this particular version of the said file, they have to reportedly delete it and reinstall the tile. The publication has provided a step-by-step procedure of the process.

It is worth nothing that being able to obtain "Fallout 4" before its release date was one of the bonuses offered to those who pre-ordered the game on Xbox One. Hence having it pre-loaded on the day of release keeps gamers from the need to wait an ample of hours for the game to download before jumping into the gameplay.

As for the game's major themes, Express mentioned about how humankind's redemption will play a major role in "Fallout 4." It is said that players will have the ability to create their own places within the wasteland, thus they have a say in how their future is shaped.

"Fallout 4" will be released on November 10 for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. But then again for Xbox One users who pre-ordered the game, they have to redownload it all over again.
