It seems that gamers from New Zealand will be the first to try "Fallout 4," as the game will be first made available for download in the said country. However, the U.S fanatics don't have to worry as they can download the game 20 hours ahead of the rest as long as they use a PC VPN.
According to Design & Trend, a recent tweet from Bethesda Game Studio's Vice President of PR and Marketing, Pete Hines, confirmed the trick. Hines reportedly tweeted that "Fallout 4" will release at 12:01 a.m. local time for every place, so as to begin playing around midnight. This then unveiled that New Zealand will be the first country where the said game will be unlocked.
Since every gamer in the world wants to start the campaign a few hours early, the trick is to use a networking technology called Virtual Private Network, or also known as VPN. Realty Today reported that by just logging into the system, a device can spoof the IP address in order for the person to look like he's surfing the Cyberspace from other parts of the world. Hence, it would allow PCs and consoles both in the United Kingdom and United States to appear as if they're in New Zealand.
However, there's reportedly a drawback from such technique as Steam's end user license agreement strictly prohibits the use of VPN. Basically, if a user is caught, it may lead to banning of the user's account. Although reports state that there are several gamers who didn't encounter any issues at all, the risk is still there.
Meanwhile, the fans are skeptical regarding Bethesda's ability to deliver another great game, considering that "Fallout 4" is already the fourth installment of the series. As reported by Gaming Bolt, Pete Hines said that they hope to end up "delivering on and executing on the promise that we showed."
Just a few more days and "Fallout 4" will arrive, and, for sure, those who are in New Zealand can't help but be excited. Well, U.S gamers are probably starting to gear up their VPNs as well.
Will the game be a satisfaction or a disappointment?
