Ubisoft announced the microtransactions and post-launch plans to be expected for Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege. The game is also set to acquire four expansions in 2016.
According to Ubisoft's official blog, Rainbow Six Siege will receive four expansions where each one will have a new map along with two operators. Each operator will be equipped with brand new primary weapons, secondary weapons, and unique gadget.
The outline of Ubisoft's plans for 2016 is also featured in the blog in an infographic form, "Year One Roadmap."
As previously announced by IGN, the entire future maps and modes are among the free DLC, but users still need to use "Renown" to unlock new characters or weapon skins. These Renowns can be gathered by playing the game or purchasing using real-world money.
Ubisoft said that "Nearly everything you do in Rainbow Six Siege will net you Renown, including winning or losing matches, kills, assists, reviving teammates, playing ranked matches, watching tutorials or completing Daily Challenges."
Furthermore, R6 Credits can also be bought using real-world cash, which can then enable players to purchase premium weapon skins which are not attainable by any other means. However, Ubisoft made it clear that these are "purely cosmetic" and they will not impact the gaming experience.
"R6 Credits are an optional premium currency that will be available at launch in packs of 600, 1200, 2670, 4920 or 7560," Ubisoft explained. "A pack of 600 R6 Credits will cost $4.99 USD, with larger bundles offering more Credits per dollar."
In another report from Game Rant, Ubisoft believes that the latest game in the Rainbow Six series along with CEO Yves Guillemot, may be the best-selling in the history of the company. They have high hopes that it will surpass Far Cry 4 sales, which has already 7 million copies sold to date.
A lot of fans seem to affirm these future plans by Ubisoft. With Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege microtransactions concept and post-launch goals, the game could be a big hit.
Rainbow Six Siege will launch on December 1 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
