The Apple iPhone 7 coming in 2016 will likely be the thinnest iPhone ever made. Recently approved patents suggest that the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus will support Apple Pencil.
Apple could be readying an iPhone 7 to launch in 2016. KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that he expects the iPhone 7 to be the thinnest iPhone made by Apple, with perhaps 6 millimeters thickness. It will be relatively thinner than the iPad Air 2 and the newest iPod Touch model, reported The Cheat Sheet.
Kuo also said that the iPhone 7 Plus could pack in more RAM than the iPhone 7. The iPhone 7 Plus could have 3 GB RAM while the iPhone 7 could pack 2GB RAM. Both the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are expected to come with the rumored next-gen A10 processor.
Recently published Apple patents suggest that the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus could support the Apple Pencil stylus as per International Business Times. The patent approved by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office revealed that Apple is planning to make an Apple Pencil for the iPad Pro and the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.
The Apple Pencil stylus for the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus is said to make use of Force Touch sensors to detect pressure and generate feedback depending on the amount of force applied by the user. It will reportedly make certain tasks like shading and drawing easier. The Apple Pencil stylus is planned to be an additional accessory for the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.
Another rumor surrounding the iPhone 7 said that it will do away with the trademark Apple home button. The iPhone 7 could be a full-screen iPhone that would allow users to view images and videos up to the edges of the device. A concept video by DeepMind showed how the bezel-less iPhone 7 would possibly appear like. Cult of Mac's Luke Dormehl said that this feature could help Apple differentiate the iPhone 7 from its predecessors.
iDigitalTimes reported that the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus could be released in the next iPhone launch cycle in September 2016. The report added that Apple users could upgrade to the new iPhone 7 and 7 Plus with the Apple iPhone Upgrade Plan.
There are also some speculations that Apple will launch a four-inch, metal-bodied iPhone. It could be released at the same time as the new iPhone 7 and 7 Plus in 2016.
