Simon Cowell Apologizes to Zayn Malik's Fans About the One Direction Joke He Uttered

By

Simon Cowell apologized to Zayn Malik's fans about what seemed to be a harmless joke to him, but not to Zayn's fans who were offended by it. One Direction fans do not take jokes very lightly as obviously proven.

At a recent awards ceremony held last November 2, Simon Cowell accepted an award that was presented by the four members of the boy band, One Direction. The members of the band presented an award at the Music Industry Trusts event, according to Perez Hilton, and Simon's speech definitely sent Zayn's fans to an outrage. Zayn's exit from the band has sent his fans to dismay and they are apparently still very sensitive on the issue.

During his acceptance speech, he publicly admitted his drunken state and thanked the One Direction band for the award. As he ended his speech, he said "Guys, who misses Zayn?" implying that his absence was allegedly not felt by Simon. This statement then sent Zayn's fans in an outrage, posting hate tweets to Simon. This then prompted him to apologize publicly, seeing how the fans couldn't take jokes lightly. "Well I just kind of thought while I was standing on stage with them that they were back to being five," he said during an interview on Fresh 102.7 New York's Trey and Ghia show last November 6, as reported by Hollywood Life.

The 56-year-old sincerely apologized admitting that his joke backfired hugely. "I apologize to any Zayn fans out there - it was meant as a joke," he said according to Mirror. Zayn's new manager, Sarah Stenett, ensured the public that nothing will stop her new client from becoming an important artist. She believes her job is to make sure nobody gets in the way of Zayn in his new career.

Simon Cowell definitely learned his lesson on making jokes about famous young artists of today. He already sincerely apologized for his actions.
