While the "Doctor Strange" movie rolls into production, behind-the-scene images of the upcoming Marvel movie have emerged online. The Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch was seen filming in Nepal with the casts and crew.
On Saturday, Kathmandu Post revealed some sneak peak of how the production set is progressing. The photos revealed Benedict Cumberbatch and Chietewel Ejiofor (12 Years of Slave, Serenity, and Children of Men) while filming Marvel's "Doctor Strange" movie franchise in Patan Durbar Square, Nepal.
According to the Collider, Ejiofor will play the role as Baron Mordo who will be Strange's primary villain. His appearance was considered one of the first essential features of the "Doctor Strange" movie production to receive amass attentions from the audiences even from the Marvel cynics.
IGN reported that the photos did circulate around the web including in some social media accounts. Various Twitter and Instagram account users have flocked online with their own photos and captions revealing the on-set filming of the "Doctor Strange" casts. Some photos featured Ejiofor in a hood feature while having a discussion with Benedict Cumberbatch's Sorcerer's Supreme.
Apparently, the major details of the movie are being kept under wraps. Some sources are speculating that the storyline will follow the story from the comic books. However, there are reports that state the movie will be taken in a 1968 setting where "Zealots of dark magic" through a portal to a dark dimension are expected to be seen alongside the leader Kaecilius. It will also feature the modern days of Strange as he performs a surgery on a patient with a gunshot wound.
In the comics, Strange was known as an arrogant doctor who will also reflect his character in the movie. As arrogant as he is, his hands will be severely injured when he crashes his car while conversing on the phone. Although Dr. Nicodemus West tries to save the damage, his hands will not be able to be repaired.
Seemingly, Doctor Strange will have an encounter with magic which leads him to take on a journey to finding the Ancient One (Tilda Swinton) but she will soon refuse to teach him. Marvel's "Doctor Strange" is being directed by Scott Derrickson.
