After months of waiting, fans of "Suits" now have something to look forward to as new developments have arrived for the 5th season of the legal drama. USA Network has announced the show’s official return date next year while also releasing a new promo for episode 11 titled “Blowback”.
As reported by Deadline, the first of the remaining six episodes of Suits season 5 will resume on Wednesday, Jan. 27th at 10/9c.
In the aftermath of Mike’s arrest for conspiracy to commit fraud, viewers will find Mike at the center of an investigation. To this end, Suits will introduce Assistant US Attorney Anita Gibbs, a recurring character described as a “ruthless government prosecutor” who will run the investigation, while also threatening to bring down the firm. She will be played by 24 alum, Leslie Hope.
On Harvey’s arc, viewers last saw him resigning at the firm in order to protect it. Now that he’s faced with Mike’s ordeal, his latest challenge will be finding out a way to clear his protégé’s name – despite of the fact that Mike is guilty. The Hollywood Reporter has shared the scoop.
On Rachel’s orbit, viewers will find her facing her family in the wake of her fiance’s scandal being exposed. It is expected that Robert Zane (Wendell Pierce) will be seen more in the coming episodes as he will play a major role in backing up Rachel during this hard time.
With these developments, the cable network released the latest promo for Suits titled “Blowback” to offer fans a sneak peek on the gripping events abound. Via Youtube, the brief clip ominously asks “Who Sold Out Mike?” while dropping a couple of intense remarks from Harvey. The preview also sees Mike inside a prison cell, an absolute helpless moment for the firm’s golden boy.
"Suits" will resume its fifth season with a game-changing storyline, following the arrest of Mike Ross. The next episode titled “Blowback” will make its debut on Wednesday, Jan. 27 at 10PM on USA Network.
