The success of the action RPG, The Witcher 3, developed by CD Projekt RED, paves way to the release of its latest DLC expansion entitled Blood and Wine. The Blood and Wine expansion is reported to feature new characters based on the books of Andrezej Saptonski in a whole new storyline.

The Blood and Wine expansion was announced by CD Projekt RED to have its release on 2016 as reported by Realty Today. The game's Narrative designer, Mateusz Tomaskiewicz announced during the held PAX Australia 2015 that the new characters featured in the game are based from those read in the books of Andrezej Saptonski. The game is set in Touissant wherein the player would have the chance to meet the sorceress Fringilla Vigo who happened to be Geralt's former lover, and Duchess Anna Henrietta.

On the other hand, Community Manager Marcin Momot added that the expansion also features new monsters including the Manticore, Bruxas, Stringas, and new horse breeds, along with new mod kits. In addition, Tomaskiewicz spoke of several details regarding the main story and the first expansion. He commented that they could have done better in terms of the plot and development, but were restricted by rules of story making. The Blood and Wine DLC offers a rich storyline and twist by which Yibada commented to make the main game more interesting than the main quest.

The expansion, commented by Gamespot as being more substantial, offers an additional 20 hours of gameplay, unlike the 10 hour gameplay of the first expansion. The story takes Geralt to a land untouched by war, with a carefree atmosphere and knightly rituals that shroud an ancient, bloody secret.

Join Geralt in his quest to the land of Touissant in the 20 hour gameplay of Blood and Wine DLC which shall release sometime in the first half of 2016. The expansion shall be playable in PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
