Xiaomi has introduced its next-generation fitness tracker, the Mi Band Pulse, in China just recently. It features a high-accuracy optical heart rate sensor with the same design as its predecessor and will be available for purchase on Wednesday, 11th of November.
The Xiaomi Mi Band Pulse retains its affordability, with just a $16 price tag, like that of Xiaomi's first-generation fitness tracker model. It appears to be pretty much identical to its predecessor, but a heart rate monitor is now included in it. The inclusion of this sensor implies that the band now brings more comprehensive activity tracking solution, including quality of sleep, steps tracking, and calorie intake.
In addition, the latest Xiaomi health tracker is compatible with both iOS and Android devices, running Android 4.4 KitKat operating system and above. It connects through Bluetooth 4.0 LE and uses Xiaomi's Mi Fit application to sync fitness, sleep, and health data from the user's wrist. The users can also unlock their smartphones while wearing the band and can receive incoming call alerts.
Furthermore, Mi Band Pulse also sports a more durable strap and is IP67-certified, making it dust- and water-resistant. It includes a 45mAH battery that can last up to 30 days on a single full charge. Also, it has been tested to withstand drops of 4 feet as well as high and low temperatures.
The new fitness band comes in different colors, such as green, orange, blue, black, red, and teal. It is still uncertain if it will be available outside China. Thus, consumers may have it through online.
On the whole, Xiaomi has created one of the most affordable health trackers. The Mi Band Pulse will definitely be a hit in the market not just because of its price, rather its features. Hence, all fitness band fans may get a hold of this innovative tracker on November 11.
