Xiaomi is set to unleash its latest addition to its smartphone lineup, the Mi 5, any time soon. Recent reports claim that Xiaomi Mi 5 will feature a force touch technology and will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 or a deca-core MediaTekHelio X20 processor.
This newest Xiaomi Mi 5 flagship is alleged to sport a 5.2-inch screen display with 2560 by 1440 pixels resolution. It is believed to include a 4GB of RAM, Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection, Type-C USB port, 3000mAh battery, and an ultrasonic high-speed fingerprint sensor for authentication. In addition, it will come in 32GB and 64GB built-in internal storage.
Under the hood, the Mi 5 is speculated to be powered by either Snapdragon 820 or Helio X20 chipset. However, the Snapdragon 820 has no commercial availability released yet. Thus, the much-awaited Xiaomi handset's launching might depend on the availability of the latest processor.
Camera wise, the upcoming Xiaomi smartphone boasts a 16-megapixel rear shooter with optical image stabilization and a 5-megapixel front snapper. It is also expected to run on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system instead of the recently launched Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Furthermore, Xiaomi has reportedly patented the 3D Force Touch technology found in Apple's latest iPhone 6s and 6s Plus smartphones. This innovative technology that is rumored to come in the forthcoming Mi 5 is said to add pressure sensitivity to the handset's touchscreen, letting various pressure to perform diverse functions.
In terms of retail pricing, the Mi 5 is expected to cost at $399. It is also rumored to be released before this year ends, by the end of November to be exact. Though, the company needs to confirm this yet.
On the whole, Xiaomi is paving its way to the smartphone industry. The Mi 5 will absolutely be one of the most-awaited devices from the company this year, which is said to feature the latest force touch technology.
