Samsung Galaxy A3 and A5 (2016 Editions) Leaked Images Reveal Metal Frame Design, Glass Back and More Possible Specs

By

It has been almost a year when Samsung Electronics released two smartphones Samsung Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5's successor. Now, new versions of the said handsets are expected to arrive featuring a metal design. Other predicted features and specs were also revealed by its speculated leaked images.

According to Latin Post, the leak was posted on Twitter by user @sleaknow, but the original photos have already been removed from the account. Based on the new images, the successor of Galaxy A3 and A5 have a metal frame body and glass. The handsets were also protected seemingly by a Gorilla Glass just like the other flagship smartphones of Samsung. The leak also revealed that the sizes of the 2016 editions of both models are likely similar or maybe identical as their predecessors, the 4.5-inch Galaxy A3 and the 5-inch Galaxy A5.

Furthermore, Phone Arena added that though there are similarities with Samsung Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5's design, there are also differences. It is very obvious, that there were changes on the shape and positioning of the speaker grill at the bottom and the camera/LED flash. Moreover, the A3 and A5 might sport some other material for the back than the matte metal of their predecessors. As revealed in the leaked images, the back portion of the upcoming handsets are like mirror finish that is more akin to a glass back than to a metal design. Either way around, it looks like something new for the A-series.

Tech2 cited other features and specs that the upcoming A series might sport. The Samsung Galaxy A3 2016 Edition will feature a 4.7-inch display with 720 x 1280 pixel resolution. It will be engineered by an Exynos 7580 quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz and packed with1.5 GB or 2 GB of RAM.

As for its memory capacity, the smartphone might include an internal storage of 16 GB. Lastly, the handset might feature a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera together with a 5-MP front facing snapper.

On the other hand, the successor of Galaxy A5 is rumored to feature a 5.2-inch full-HD display. It will be engineered by an octa-core Samsung Exynos 7 processor clocked at 1.6GHz and be packed with 2 GB of RAM. Based on the speculations, it may have an internal storage of 16GB, and a 12-megapixel rear camera along with a 4.7-megapaixel front facing snapper.

Both devices run on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop in the leaked photos, so it is possible that the duo will not debut with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.

These predictions might make sense, but it is worth remembering that none of these were confirmed by Samsung yet. For now, it is suggested to keep an eye to more announcements regarding the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5 successors.
