There are a lot of speculations that South Korean tech giant Samsung Electronics is bound to release the next phone for its Galaxy S series. Most of the rumors about Samsung Galaxy S7's features and specs claim it might sport Sony Xperia Z5's camera sensor.
Tech Times reported that Samsung Electronics is supposedly in talks with Sony into convincing the Japanese company to allow its upcoming S7 to have the IMX300 sensor which is found in the Xperia Z5 series of handsets. With this piece of information, it seems that the Korean smartphone maker is impressed with the camera sensor and is now interested to incorporate this technology with its upcoming flagship.
Sony boasts that the Sony Xperia Z5 sports a technology that is known as "Hybrid Autofocus." The Japanese tech giant stated "Our best camera phone yet is a master of speed and accuracy. Combined with 23 megapixels and five times more powerful image zoom, Xperia Z5 is able to capture even the most fleeting moments. In sparking clarity. On the first try."
Moreover, Android Authority stated on its report that there were also speculations that Samsung Galaxy S7 might sport the Korean tech giants' home grown Isocell image sensors. Android Authority notes that the big difference this time is that the company may be increasing the sensor light cell size in the Galaxy S7 in order to come up with an enhanced camera, rather than increasing the pixel resolution. In addition, Samsung Electronics is also reported to be integrating dual-photodiode technology into its new sensor, which will allow the pixel cells to double up for phase detection auto focus duties as well.
Apart from the camera sensor, the Samsung Galaxy S7 is rumored to feature Synaptics' ClearForce Technology. According to Gear Burn, the contextual touch system will give the new phone similar powers to that displayed in the iPhone 6S' 3D Touch system alongside iOS 9. This allows the touchscreen and the operating system, to react contextually to different forces of touch inputted through the screen.
Way back then, the Samsung Galaxy S7 has been speculated to be launched during the second half of 2015. But since it never happened, another talk has emerged saying that mass production will begin in December and the release would probably occur in January.
Not until the South Korean tech giant utters any word, fans of the Galaxy S series will just have to be watchful on what type of camera will be featured in the Samsung Galaxy S7.
