Samsung has begun its mass production of its Exynos 8890 chipset, as per recent reports. The South Korean tech company is said to be working on its latest Exynos processor, which will be used in its next flagship handset, the Galaxy S7.
Recently, several leaks and predictions were revealed about the Samsung Exynos 8890. Although it won't come into reality until the coming months, there are already numerous speculations about it circulating the world of Internet these days.
The Exynos 8890 has reportedly scored 1532 on the single-core test and 5434 points on the multi-core in the Geekbench benchmark analysis, which implies a notable performance improvement. It is believed that the processor uses a series of custom ARMv8 64-bit cores, includes its own Cat.12 modem, and is built using 14nm FinFET technology for enhanced power consumption and functionality.
The Cat.12 LTE allows up to 603Mbps of data transfers, but the real speed still depends upon the carriers. Hence, if rumors are to be believed, then the Samsung Galaxy S7 will be the first-ever smartphone to provide the Cat.12 network support.
Furthermore, Samsung's latest chipset appears to be very powerful and it will be able to provide the forthcoming Galaxy S7 device a more advanced processor. It is also worth noting that the S7 is alleged to be unveiled in February 2016, so the mass production of the new Exynos chipset is just appropriate. However, the company has yet to confirm this matter first before believing all the rumors mentioned.
On the whole, Samsung seems to be more serious in producing its own processors lately, which is apparently successful as seen on its previous innovations. The Exynos 8890 is absolutely a great chipset to be included in the upcoming Galaxy S7 smartphone. Thus, all Samsung users and spectators should watch out for it in the coming months.
