MTV confirms the renewal of the American horror television series Scream for second season. On Season 2, Emma Duval more protective and braver, plus original showrunners Jill Blotevogel and Jaime Paglia are replaced by collaborators Michael Gans and Richard Register.
According to the recent report by The Hollywood Reporter, Scream production company Dimension TV requested MTV to form a different creative team for the second season of the series, which has been announced after the confirmed renewal. Scream Season 1 showrunner Jaime Paglia will no longer take part on the show while Jill Blotevogel is reportedly hired as a consultant. Former co-showrunners were allegedly unable to fulfill to the Dimension TV standards, though the series received good reviews and average viewership.
In an interview with Blotevogel (before exiting as showrunner) by TV Line, protagonist Emma Duval (Willa Fitzgerald) grows stronger with her experiences in Season 1. Emma's progress in terms of her character has been compared to Sarah Connor from Terminator 1 to Terminator 2, minus the guns.
In the shocking previous season finale, Piper Shaw (Amelia Rose Blaire) turned out to be the masked killer. Emma almost got killed but Audrey Jensen (Bex Taylor-Klaus) showed up, shoot Piper, and saved Emma. Buddy Tv summarized. Piper might be dead but teasers tell that she might appear in Season 2 in the form of flashbacks. As for Audrey, an element of surprise may just happen in the forthcoming season and a lot of dark secrets will be unleashed. It all started with Audrey's anger video and the bullying she had experienced.
Joining main stars Willa Fitzgerald and Bex Taylor-Klaus are John Karna as Noah Foster, Carlson Young as Brooke Maddox, Amadeus Serafini as Kieran Wilcox, Jason Wiles as Sheriff Clark Hudson and Tracy Middendorf as Margaret "Maggie" Duval.
MTV's Scream Season 2 is scheduled to air on 20 April 2016.
