'Toy Story 4' Updates: Patricia Arquette Boards Sequel as 'Hippie' Mom; Woody-Bo Peep Relationship Explored?

By

Oscar winner Patricia Arquette has officially joined the voice cast of Pixar's "Toy Story 4" as a 'hippie' mom. The script may focus on Woody and Bo Peep's romance as the world beloved set toys continue their adventures with new owner Bonnie.

In a report by Slash Film, Patricia Arquette will be working alongside Tom Hanks and Time Allen as she joins the cast of the 4th Toy Story Movie. She will however not voice an anthromorphic toy but instead a "laid back mom who's described as a hippie".

Arquette bagged the 2014 Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for the movie "Boyhood" where she also played the role of a mom.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, John Lasseter once again returns to direct one of the most successful animated franchises from Pixar. The script is in the works and currently being penned by Will McCormack and Rashida Jones.

Though fans might need to wait three more years before the movie gets released, The Wrap has a scoop of what is to be expected in the animated sequel. According to Lasseter, the movie will this time focus on the romance between Woody and Bo Peep.

This will be an interesting turn of events as Bo Peep was last seen in Toy Story 2. There are speculations that she was given away or sold but what's clear is she will be returning to join the cast.

The past 3 installments focused on the toys' attachment to their owner Andy and the adventures that they all go through just to get home. If rumors are true, then this is the first time that the toys will be in search for one of their own not because it has something to do with their owner, but because it has something to do with love.

With Bonnie's introduction in the previous "Toy Story" film, new adventures with Buzz, Woody and friends along with their new owner are also expected to be explored in the film. The fans of the franchise have been treated with the first look of their awesome journey together in the recently released 21-minute short film titled "Toy Story of Terror" wherein mysterious things happened after Bonnie's roadtrip with her grandmother and the gang of toys took an unexpected detour.

Meanwhile, the fourth installment is expected to appeal to all generations just like the previous films. Kids will certainly appreciate a good adventure from talking toys and adults who grew up with the franchise will definitely enjoy seeing Woody in a romantic story.

Walt Disney pictures will release "Toy Story 4" on June 15, 2018.
