The dinosaurs are set to be back in Jurassic Word 2, and an advertisement was found in an expo suggesting that promotions is already ongoing for the sequel. Director Colin Trevorrow also revealed what should be expected in the plot.
Years before filming even begin for the next film, advertisement has already begun for the project. As reported by Scified, a pamphlet was spotted in an expo showing Jurassic World's logo, above the words "THE PARK IS OPEN", and below is the text that reads "Jurassic World 2 Coming Summer 2018".
Plot Details for the film are currently under wraps. But as revealed by Trevorrow, it could explore a larger setting outside the park. As reported by Movie Pilot, Trevorrow revealed their plan of expanding the universe in the sequel.
"It won't be just a bunch of dinosaurs chasing people on an island. That'll get old real fast. This isn't always going to be limited to theme parks, and there are applications for this science that reach far beyond entertainment.", Trevorrow said.
Trevorrow also hinted about using the dinosaurs as weapons by different entities. "And when you look back at nuclear power, and how that started, the first instinct was to weaponize it, and later on we found it could be used for energy. What if there are 15 different entities around the world who can make a dinosaur?", he added.
Aside from that, he also hinted about a possible relationship between the gigantic dinosaurs and the humans. This was actually teased in the previous film between Chris Pratt's Owen and his relationship with his Raptors.
Plot details are still unknown as of writing, but it was revealed previously that Trevorrow and Steven Spielberg has worked together to plot the next instalments of the franchise. According to iSchool Guide, the forthcoming project will be part of a trilogy planned for the franchise.
Jurassic World was a massive success earning $1.6 billion worldwide. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are expected to reprise their roles as Owen and Claire respectively. The sequel is written by Derek Connolly, Michael Crichton, and Trevorrow. Filming is expected to begin in 2017 to make way for its June 22, 2018 slated release date.
