The HTC One M9 Android 6.0 Marshmallow firmware update is still very much happening before the year ends, but some new twists have come out suggesting that it might even be coming earlier than expected.
The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update started rolling out last October 5 to Nexus phones, after which HTC promised that the company would deliver an update to their latest flagship phones by the end of the year, reports Gotta Be Mobile.
According to Master Herald, the HTC devices that are confirmed to receive the firmware update are the HTC One M9, the HTC One M9+, the HTC One A9 and the HTC One M8. Earlier in November, the HTC One M8 finally received its Android 6.0 Marshmallow update, which gives users assurance that the Taiwan-based company has and will deliver on their promise to bring updates to the announced phones before the year ends.
A photo tweeted by Jason Mackenzie, President of HTC Americas, back in late September showed that the HTC One M9 would receive the Marshmallow update by the 'beginning end of 2015', reminds Tampa Bay Review.
