'NCIS' Season 13 Episode 9 SPOILERS: 'Day in Court'

By

The next episode of the long-running police procedural drama series, "NCIS", follows a petty officer who is accused of committing murder. The alleged suspect will seek the help of Agent Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and the team in order to clear his name.

"Day in Court" is the title of the new "NCIS" episode. Its official synopsis adds that the murder case of the petty officer was dismissed because of mishandled evidence. In order exonerate his name, the PO volunteers to be court-martialed if the NCIS team will agree to take a second look at his case.

Meanwhile, Bishop (Emily Wickersham) and Jake (Jamie Bamber) discuss problems concerning their marriage. The couple's relationship has been on the rocks for a while and they are hoping that discussing their problems could somehow lessen their burden. However, it is reported that their conversation will not work out as planned. This is probably because Bishop is planning on going out of town for a while to visit her mother in Oklahoma for Thanksgiving. And it seems that Jake joining her family for the holiday will be very unlikely.

In the previous episode, "Saviors", the team investigates on the death of three doctors from the IDG (International Doctors Group). It was discovered that the volunteers were attacked and kidnapped by insurgents in Sudan while conducting a volunteer mission. The attack left three dead and two more missing. During the investigation, the team also found out that one of the leading doctors in the IDG was Jeanne Benoit (Scottie Thompson). Her husband is one of the missing doctors.

As recalled, Benoit was in the fifth season of the show and took part in one of its major storylines. Tony (Michael Weatherly) went undercover that time as a college professor linked with Jeanne so he can get close to her dad who is an arms dealer. His true motive was discovered eventually which broke Jeanne's heart. Having met again, the two former lovers were forced to work together in order to track Jeanne's husband and the other missing IDG volunteer.

Meanwhile, Gibbs tells Dr. Cyril Taft (Jon Cryer) that he needs to rest after his traumatic experience. He needs a shrink as the doctor recommended, but says he didn't want one. He declares that Dr. Taft is the only doctor he'll open up to.
