Although massive rumors and controversies are being stoned at the "Alien 5" movie, the director seemed to not be affected by all those issues. But instead, he revealed some details about his latest project proving that the movie will happen anytime soon.
Following the reports that Neil Blomkamp has signed for another sci-fi movie under 20th Century Fox, the director seemed to not let go of the "Alien 5" movie. However, Movie Pilot insisted that the fifth installment movie will be delayed for the production of the "Prometheus" sequel film. While the "Alien: Paradise Lost" will be on indefinite hold, it appeared like Blomkamp will first work on Fox's "The Gone World."
The plan now would be Blomkamp will be directing while Ridley Scott will be the producer. During an interview with IGN, Scott admitted that he regrets not taking the sequel for the first time. "I'm trying to keep this for myself. I let the other one [Alien] get away from me - I shouldn't have..." he said. "I'm trying to re-resurrect the beast and let if off the hook for a while because I'm coming back into the back-end of Alien 1. I'm gradually getting to Alien 1."
Furthermore, he revealed that his "Prometheus 2" movie will start production in February. The Collider reported that the audiences would see how his movie will be connected to the "Alien 5" movie. The "Prometheus 2" will feature how and who created the Aliens.
In the social media, Blomkamp promised that the Pulse Rifle will again be seen in the "Alien 5" movie. Sources say the filming was originally scheduled in Australia before the movie was delayed for the "Prometheus 2" movie. But on a social media account, 20th Century Fox revealed on Monday that Scott will be directing the the next Alien in the franchise, "Alien: Covenant" which is due on October 06, 2017.
It is not yet clear when the studio plans to give the green light for the production. However, Blomkamp has assured that the "Alien 5" movie will not be cancelled.
