The Flash and Arrow will once again have a crossover that is meant to launch The CW's latest superhero offering "Legends of Tomorrow". This was announced last week when Arrow creator Marc Guggenheim posted a photo on Twitter of the two superheroes flanked by the characters from the new show. He also used "Legends of Tomorrow" as his hashtag.
Deadline reports that Guggenheim revealed that this year's crossover of the two superhero series will be a true two part episode unlike last year's which had two interconnected episodes where each had its own beginning, middle and end that can be enjoyed independently. This time, there will only be one villain (Vandal) and the crossover episode will very clearly launch "Legends of Tomorrow".
Guggenheim however insists that the crossover will still be individual The Flash and Arrow episodes that will introduce the characters of the new series and it will not serve as the "Legends of Tomorrow" pilot. According to TV Line, Arrow lead star Stephen Amell said the crossover in general has done an excellent job of weaving not just two shows, but three shows together.
Ecumenical News reports that on December 1, the first part of the crossover will be seen as an episode of The Flash titled "Legends of Today". Vandal Savage attacks Kendra Saunders and Cisco Ramon in Central City. Barry Allen aka The Flash hides Kendra in Star City and asks for Oliver and his team's help. The first part of the two-part episode ends when Carter Hall aka Hawkman flies off with Kendra.
Part 2 will be an Arrow episode on December 2 and is titled "Legends of Yesterday". Here, Oliver and Barry hide Hawkman and Kendra while they make a plan to defeat Vandal. After Malcolm's failed attempt to patch things between the two superheroes and the super villain, the two teams of the crossover shows, Arrow and The Flash, create a weapon to destroy Vandal.
