Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update to OnePlus Devices Set Q1 of 2016

OnePlus has released two smartphones that provided great competition to other smartphones. These handsets are running on the company's home grown operating system. Recently, the Chinese tech giant has announced that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow might be available on its handsets on first quarter of 2016.

According to NYSE Post, OnePlus now has three smartphones in the market, with the first of them running Cyanogen OS while the remaining two feature Oxygen OS under the chassis. The OnePlus One will get the Cyanogen OS Android Marshmallow update while the flagship killer OnePlus 2 will obtain the Android 6.0 upgrade.

Furthermore, Softpedia reported that the Chinese OEM confirmed that it is working very hard to rollout Android 6.0 Marshmallow as soon as possible to the OnePlus X units. It was also reported that more information about the Marshmallow operating system will arrive in the coming weeks. As of the moment, OnePlus suggests owners of its handsets to look for new OxygenOS update that the company plans to roll out soon.

Gotta Be Mobile, cited some of the improvements and enhancements that Android 6.0 Marshmallow will bring to the OnePlus devices. The update will bring bug fixes to the handsets and users can also expect a more improved performance as well as better battery life called the "Doze" feature. The devices will also have the Google Now on Tap feature. It is also expected to bring improved volume, permission controls, and fingerprint scanner.

With the Android 6.0 Marshmallow arriving on the OnePlus devices like OnePlus One, OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X, users of these handsets will enjoy the improvements that the newest operating system would bring. Meanwhile, the owners of the OnePlus X might wait a little longer as there is no available information yet about the release of Android M to this gadget.
