Apple CEO, Tim Cook, released a statement saying that MacBook and iPad will not converge. He emphasized that the two products will continue to be manufactured separately. Cook cited the impossibility to perform such combination and that things may be compromised if MacBook and iPad will come together as one.

The Independent quoted what Cook said in his statement, "We feel strongly that customers are not really looking for a converged Mac and iPad." He also said that neither experience would be as good as the customer wants. Tim also mentioned, "That said, what we've tried to do is to recognize that people use both iOS and Mac devices." This entails that Mac and iPads have its own significant place in the technological industry with the uniqueness of its specs and features.

On the other hand, the related report noted that computer benchmark tests suggest that iPad Pro performs faster and gives better graphics than most PCs. Other benchmarks also reported that iPad Pro delivers MacBook Air-class CPU performance and MacBook Pro-class GPU performance. Further, Mac Stories editor, Federico Viticci, commented, "I don't see myself using a Mac as my primary computer ever again," Mac Rumors noted. This is with regards to his experience of using the new iPad Pro. Some reviews of the new iPad also described that the tablet is as a powerful as a creative canvas.

The aforementioned comments only show how iPad meets the expectations and demands of its users. The Verge also said that Apple's marketing for the new iPad is more productive, despite of relying to third party software developers.

Tim Cook did not provide further details of its future plans about MacBook and iPads. Nevertheless, his statement regarding the issue conveys an assurance that the company will continue to provide quality products to its users.
