The recently rumored actress finally speaks up regarding the casting rumors on Outlander Season 2 while an actor officially joins the show including the casting of a number of French actors who are going to join the cast.
Game of Thrones star Sophia Turner finally debunks the casting umors that she will be playing the role of Brianna Fraser in "Outlander" Season 2. Meanwhile, Clive Russell and a whole lot of French actors officially join the cast.
Speculations had surfaced on the internet that Sophia Turner will play Brianna Fraser's role. With that being said, Turner finally speaks up regarding the casting rumors. As reported by Entertainment Weekly, she said,"Somebody mentioned (the role) to me when I was on a red carpet somewhere, that I'd make a great Brianna, and I think (star Sam Heughan) retweeted it or something. So people started talking like I was in it. I've never seen the show. I'm sure it's great, but I'm loyal to my one true love."
On the other hand, Starz network officially confirms that Clive Russell joins the cast of "Outlander". According to Fashion and Style, Russell will be portraying the role of Simon Fraser, Jamie's (Sam Heughan) grandfather.
In addition to that, many new French actors are joining the cast for "Outlander" Season 2. As posted on Access Hollywood, new cast members include Frances de la Tour (as Mother Hildegarde), Lionel Lingelser (as Louis XV), Laurence Dobiesz (as Alex Randall), Rosie Day (as Mary Hawkins), Andrew Gower (as Bonnie Prince Charlie), Dominique Pinon (as Master Raymond), Stanley Weber (as Comte St. Germain), and Robert Cavanah (as Jared Fraser, Jamie's cousin).
The production for "Outlander" Season 2 is currently ongoing. The newest season is set to premiere around March or April 2016 exclusively on Starz, however, the producers have not confirmed a specific release date just yet. "Outlander" is an American-British TV drama series based on the novels of Diana Gabaldon.
