While the "Toy Story 4" is scheduled for a 2018 release, Disney has already been reportedly casting new characters for the upcoming animated sequel movie. Walt Disney Studio has also confirmed that the renowned John Lasseter will be returning to helm.
In The Hollywood Reporter, Lasseter revealed that the original plan does not include making another Toy Story movie. However, there was an enormous change of heart which led the crew to produce up until "Toy Story 4". The director also admitted his excitement to helm the fourth installment film.
"Toy Story 3 ended Woody and Buzz's story with Andy so perfectly that for a long time, we never even talked about doing another Toy Story movie. But when Andrew, Pete, Lee and I came up with this new idea," he said. "I just could not stop thinking about it. It was so exciting to me, I knew we had to make this movie-and I wanted to direct it myself."
Just as what the director revealed about how the third movie ended, the Collider reported that the "Toy Story 4" movie will not directly pick off of the story of the first three movies. It will have a separate plot line which will focus more on romance. The Pixar Studio President Jim Morris confirmed that it will temporarily continue the ending of the third movie and it will be a romantic comedy.
Furthermore, the studio has reportedly been casting new characters for the "Toy Story 4" movie. The Wrap revealed that the studio is in negotiations with Patricia Arquette (Boyhood) to join Tom Hanks, Tim Allen and the other cast. The actress was said to voice an easy-going mom with the description of a hippie. However, this remains uncertain as it was tipped by an unidentified source.
While Bo Peep has had shortly featured in the previous three films, sources say the fourth film will merely be focused on her romantic relationship with Woody. But would Annie Potts return to voice Bo Peep in the "Toy Story 4" movie?
