The popular Japanese role playing game developed by Nippon Ichi, Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, has recently received updates which enables the game to be playable on PC via Steam.
The game's new features include remodeled sprites and map screens. RPGamer also reported that the game has an updated UI which included keyboard and mouse support and the ability to mix the old art assets with the new ones. In addition, the update shall also include Steam trading cards, badges, and achievements. A full Japanese audio is also available.
It is the first time for NIS America to launch a game to PC via Steam. The classic role playing game, Disgaea: Hour of Darkness is set to arrive on February of 2016, although a specific date is yet to be confirmed. As reported by the International Business Times, the game is considered a "classic" by the RPG fan community due to its memorable characters and funny writing. The game, unlike the usual RPGs which levels only up to 99, boasts its leveling up feature up to 9999. Furthermore, the game is also known for its "soul-crushing difficulty". With it, serious strategizing and leveling up is the key to beating the game.
According to Gamespot, a 'definitive' version of the game is coming to PC. Developer Nippon Ichi said that they applied "special care" to optimize the game for a PC version. This includes support for different screen sizes, improved user interface, updated tile textures, and the new control scheme for the keyboard and mouse which was mentioned earlier. Steam specific features such as cloud saves will be supported as well.
Nippon Ichi's classic role playing game, Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, shall soon hit the personal computers via Steam sometime in February, 2016. Fans are to expect a definitive version of the game and an improved gameplay trough the game's major software updates.
