FX Channel finally grants "Tyrant" for a 3rd season. Unfortunately, the official premiere date has not been announced yet until now. Apart from that, the season 2 performance when it comes to ratings has been elaborated.
FX officially renewed "Tyrant" for a 3rd season and has ordered a 10-episode run for the Middle East-set series. With that being said, FX President and General Manager John Landgraf shared to fan as reported by The Hollywood Reporter about his formula of determining a renewal.
Landgraf stated, "I and my team get 1 vote, (critics) and the other experts get 1 vote, and the audience gets 1 vote. 2 votes gets a show picked up, but we overrule 2:1 vote against us for a time if we believe either the audience or the experts will come around based on the quality of the show." As per the official premiere date, When Release reports that only the season renewal has been announced by FX network. The specific release date is yet to be announced.
Speaking of the previous season's performance, Deadline indicates that, the 2nd installment has garnered an average of 2.47 million total viewers and 1.05 million adults 18-49 Live +7. In addition to that, its premiere episode boasted the highest Live + Same Day to Live +3 among FX network's season premiere episodes in total viewers and adults 18-49. The numbers grew +149% in the demographic and +121% in total viewers.
The cable network of "Tyrant" series officially announces that they have granted the show for a 3rd installment. However, the specific release date has not been a part of the announcement. Other than that, the previous season's performance has been noted.
"Tyrant" Season 3 is slated to premiere anytime soon in 2016. As of now, the cable network has yet to announce its official release date. "Tyrant" is an American drama TV series created by director and writer Gideon Raff. The Middle Eastern family political drama is developed by Howard Gordon and Craig Wright.
