‘Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam’ Updates: Videos Reveal Game Story, Game Details, and Use of Amiibo Characters

Prior to the game's most awaited release, Nintendo has released a series of promotional and advertising videos for Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam in Japan. Such videos offered sneak peeks regarding the game's story, details, while one also revealed how amiibo characters may be used in-game.

First, a live action commercial surfaced in Japan which intended to advertize Nintendo's Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam. Hardcore Gamer reports that the video advertisement starred two live actors dressed like Mario and Luigi, being accompanied by a life-sized Paper Mario. As they embark on a short adventure, the video pretty much showcased Paper Mario's notable skills which included sideway turning and folding into a paper airplane to gather coins which are out of reach. The video finished off with the live heroes hopping atop the gigantic Papercraft Mario in order to stomp the game's villains.

Then another two videos were released by Nintendo. The first video focused on the game story, showing how the two worlds, the Mario & Luigi world and the Paper Mario world intertwined. According to Siliconera, the story shows a little story which included Bowser and Paper Bowser kidnapping Princess Peach and Paper Princess Peach, respectively. With it, Mario and Luigi were prompted to work with Paper Mario to set things right once again. Meanwhile, the second video focused on a short example on how amiibo characters can be used to help our heroes in in-game battles.

Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam is Nintendo's first attempt to combine the elements of Mario & Luigi and Paper Mario franchises in a role playing game. As Venture Beat reports, the game shall feature characters like Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Bowser, and Toad both in their Mario & Luigi bodies and their Paper Mario bodies.

Nintendo's role playing game, Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam shall be released exclusively for Nintendo 3DS. The game shall be released in Japan on December 3, in Europe on December 4, in Australia on December 10, and in North America on January 22.
