Red Hook Studios has finally announced the release date of its turn-based dungeon crawling, role playing game, Darkest Dungeon on Spring of 2016 for PS4 and PS Vita, and on January 19, 2016 for PC. The game is also scheduled to be one of the games available for testing at the upcoming PlayStation Experience in San Francisco.
Community Manager John Lindvay first announced the port and provided the release window which announces: "Spring 2016". Developed by Red Hook Studios, Darkest Dungeon is a turn-based RPG with challenging party management mechanics beneath the deepest dungeons. Characters experience psychological and physical ailments as they delve into adventure and explore the dungeon just beneath a player's ancestral home. As reported by The Escapist, the key in the game is to balance the well-being for adventurers against the need to compete challenging missions. Financed by a successful Kickstarter campaign on October 2013 for 300,000 USD, the PC version was made available in Steam Early Access since February of 2015.
The game shall test one's patience and willingness to engage with a game that seems to be unbeatable. As iDigital Times reported, the developers also wanted the PlayStation community to experience the mystery, magic, and frustration of Darkest Dungeons for the PS platform releases. The first game details were published to Darkest Dungeons US PlayStation Blog on Wednesday, including screenshots which showed much of the game's interesting and unique art style.
The game's PS4 version shall be shown publicly for the first time at the PlayStation Experience in Moscone Center, San Francisco on December 5 to 6. The game will be one of the 111 playable games to be featured for testing in the event. Meanwhile, VG 24/7 reports that an interim patch shall be released at the end of November as well, including a new playable hero, Abomination.
Red Hook Studio's turn-based RPG, Darkest Dungeons, shall be playable on PS4 and PS Vita consoles starting Spring of 2016. On the other hand, a final PC release is also to be released on January 19, 2016.
