Warner Bros and DC's pool of bad guys are set for their first outing in the DCEU with Suicide Squad. But before it hits theaters, several speculations have surfaced as to who would first meet his/her demise. Moreover, the film's producer revealed how Jared Leto was in the set.
Aside from the upcoming Batman v Superman, Suicide Squad is another flick eagerly anticipated by DC Fans, and as early as now, speculations have started on who will die first among the anti-heroes. According to Movie News Guide, there are claims that Will Smith's Deadshot might be the first to be killed off.
It is heavily speculated that Deadshot is likely to form a bad relationship with the Joker, just like the various comic book version of the characters, which could be the reason why Joker would kill Deadshot first. Also, it was hinted in the trailer that a love triangle between Harley Quinn, Deadshot, and Joker could be another factor why he would be killed off, aside from that fact that he has a baby girl to protect outside the prison walls, which directly equates to his vulnerability.
Aside from that, as reported by Independent, Adam Beach who plays slipknot in the film also previously revealed that Jared Leto who plays the Clown Prince of Crime, Joker, sent a rat to his co-star Margot Robbie, and bullets to Will Smith. For the rest of the cast, he sent video of him with a dead hog and apologized that he couldn't join them at the time.
While it's understandable for Leto to send a "gift" to Robbie given that she plays the role of his love interest, Harley Quinn, his act of sending a gift to Smith could indicate that the latter will play a significant role in the events in Suicide Squad.
Meanwhile, as reported by Esquire, producer Charles Roven recently revealed how Leto's method acting affected the film and the cast. According to Roven, Leto sticked to his character while filming that he had to be addressed as "Mr. J" to get him to work.
"The group first wasn't sure because the AD's had to call him 'Mr. J' to get him to come to the set [laughs]. And he did in many ways isolate himself from the rest of the group, but that's really what his character was, the purpose of his character in many ways, other than when he was with Harley or trying to get Harley", Roven said. "It was very entertaining, it was fuel for a lot of good sport and a lot of laughs, and his isolation bonded the squad, and we wanted the squad bonded."
The much anticipated Suicide Squad is written and directed by David Ayer. The cast also includes Jai Courtney, Cara Delevingne, Ben Affleck, Viola Davis, Joel Kinnaman, Adewale Akkinuoye-Agbaje, Jay Hernandez, and Karen Fukuhara among many others. It is set to hit theaters on August 5, 2016.
