Android 6.0 Marshmallow update is set to release to Moto G (2014) with LTE as Motorola has confirmed that it has pending partner support with mobile carriers in the US. The update will come in with a slew of improvements for an optimum device experience.
Motorola is currently in talks with telecomm companies like AT&T, US Cellular, Sprint, Verizon and T-Mobile for the official release of Android 6.0 Marshmallow software to Moto G (2014)'s LTE version. Despite the Taiwan giant has not been too generous about the details of its release, reports said upgrade will come "in the next few weeks" as Motorola President, David Schuster, revealed early this month.
Moto G (2014) with LTE units are bound for the approval process from mobile carriers while retail versions are expected to get the upgrade first.
Meanwhile, Schuster has divulged that its brand counterparts in India and Brazil will be deploying the Android 6.0 Marshmallow on Moto X Style and Moto X (2014) devices.
Along with Moto G (2014) with LTE, other Motorola devices certain to receive the Marshmallow upgrade include Moto X Style (2015), Moto X (2014), Moto G (2015), Moto X Play, DROID Turbo 2, DROID Maxx 2, DROID Turbo, Moto G (2014) and Moto X (2015). All of these devices are expected to receive the update later this month or by the second week of December.
Unfortunately, some older devices were not mentioned on Motorola's support page for software upgrades if they will be getting Marshmallow. This includes Moto E (2014), Moto E (2013), Moto X (2013), and Moto G (2013). Nevertheless, there has no final word from the company yet regarding the disqualification of the devices.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will come in with new features and improvements and removal of some unnecessary bloatwares. According to a report from Gotta Be Mobile, the Lenovo-owned company will gradually be ditching Moto Migrate, Moto Assist and Moto Connect which will free the upgrade with more spaces.
New feature coming in include Doze Mode, the new power saving feature; Now on Tap, the smarter addition/improvement of Google Now; Android Pay, to place orders with simple taps and clicks; and so many more.
