HTC Desire EYE smartphones are now confirmed to be getting the official Android 6.0 Marshmallow build after a month of evaluation. The device is definitely receiving several optimizations and improvements in user interface, power management, system apps, and more.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow will officially be coming to HTC Desire EYE devices by the first quarter of 2016 just like some of the other HTC phones. Famous tipster on Twitter, @LlabTooFer has revealed that the upgrade is indeed rolling out to the device.
Early in October when HTC first unveiled its Marshmallow plans, Desire EYE was still under evaluation for the upgrade, which meant that the mobile manufacturer had to undertake initial testing procedure to assess the phone's overall system performance running with the Android Marshmallow software.
HTC Desire EYE will receive a laundry list of improvements both from Google and HTC, plus the most coveted Sense 7.0 user interface. These include a smarter Google Now, better app permissions and new battery saver named Doze.
After confirmation, development shall follow wherein the manufacturer incorporates the Sense UI with the new build. If deemed successful, device will proceed to the testing of the new build and will be endorsed to partner mobile carriers for further action. Then official roll out will come over the air when everything is solved fit and ready.
HTC has also confirmed the same upgrade to One M9, One M9+, One M8, One M8 GPE, One M8 EYE, One M8s, One ME, One E9, One E9+, One E8, Desire 826, Desire 820, Desire 816, Desire 816G, Nexus 9 and Nexus 9 LTE. Confirmed cancelled updates include One M7 and One M7 Dual Sim variant.
