Nexus 5X was recently reported to have some problems, one of which is that its touch screen malfunctions while the device is charged. The screen of the handset tend to be unresponsive when it is plugged using the USB Type C charger.
According to Phone Arena, there were discussions over at the Google Nexus Help Forums, Reddit and XDA, stating that the problem isn't the touchscreen itself but the charger. It was noted that the Nexus 5X comes with has a plastic-made grounding pin, instead of a metal-made one. As reported, when the 5X is charged with a USB Type-A to USB Type-C charger, everything works fine. But in this case, the handset won't be charged as fast as with the genuine USB Type-C cable.
Android Headlines stated the problem might be the one that Google and LG are solving right now. But for the meantime, Google may also just replace the unit, so users experiencing this issue may want to submit a return ticket.
In addition, it was also stated that the problem may be related to the manufacture date, the phones that were shipped before November being largely with the higher risk.
Apart from the touch screen issue, Gotta Be Mobile reported that other users of Nexus 5X were complaining about a yellow screen. This isn't actually a problem with the software and instead appears to be a problem with the phone's hardware or the manufacturing process. Moreover those with affected units have been in contact with Google and the company is actually sending out replacement unit.
With the complaints to Nexus 5X, Google and LG seems are doing all they could to fix the problem. For now, owners of the aforementioned device are advised to wait for further announcements.
