The LG Electronics has recently revealed its newest smartphone, the LG Nexus 5X that will battle out against the OnePlus' flagship phone, OnePlus 2. Both of these handsets are very appealing to smartphone enthusiasts out there, although they don't have many things in common.
Neurogadget made a comparison between these two handsets. For the design and display, the back of the OnePlus 2 has a Sandstone Black finish which makes it exceptional. This handset has a rectangular body, it's 1mm thicker, measuring 9.9mm, it weighs 175grams. It sports a large 5.5-inch screen (LTPS LCD) that supports a Full HD resolution of 1080×1920 pixels at 401ppi.
On the other hand, the LG Nexus 5X also has a rectangular body, but its corners are more round and the back has a molded plastic finish. It sports a fingerprint scanner that is located just below the rear camera. This device is slimmer at 7.9mm and it weighs 136gram. However, it's also shorter as it only sports a 5.2-inch LCD screen, supporting 1080 x 1920pixels and higher pixel density at 424ppi.
Under the hood, the OnePlus 2 and Nexus 5X have two different models of 64bit Qualcomm Snapdragon processors. The first handset has the newer Snapdragon 810 octa core processor, four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.56 GHz and four Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 1.82GHz. These work hand-in-hand by either 3GB of RAM for the 16 GB internal storage variant, or 4GB of RAM for the model with 64 GB of storage. Unluckily both variants doesn't support microSD slot.
The Nexus 5X is engineered by Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor (four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.44 GHz and two Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 1.82 GHz) with 2GB of RAM. This handset has two variants of storage: the first one with 16 GB and the other, a 32 GB storage.
According to Phone Arena, both OnePlus 2 and LG Nexus 5X have a 5 megapixel snapper that is good for selfies and video chats. As for the rear-facing camera, the first handset sports 13-megapixel with dual-LED flash, while the second one has 12.3-megapixel shutter having dual-LED flash also. For the battery the OnePlus flagship is powered by a 3,300 mAh capicity battery while the Nexus 5X is armed with 2,700 mAh capacity battery.
As for the price, Android Headlines said on its article that the OnePlus 2 costs about $329 for the 16 GB model and $389 for the 64 GB model. Meanwhile, the LG Nexus 5X is tagged at $379 for the 16 GB model and $429 for the 32 GB variant.
With the aforementioned specs and features, LG Nexus 5X and OnePlus 2 indeed give each other a competitive battle in the smartphone arena. However, it's still up to the user to choose which one's better.
