Google's new LG Nexus 5X rivals the Samsung Galaxy S6 since they share mostly similar features. However, the LG Nexus 5X is superior to the Samsung Galaxy S6 in terms of software and price as per Android Geeks. The LG Nexus 5X offers the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow software at a competitive starting price of only $379.
The LG Nexus 5X gives users a taste of the Android Marshmallow system. It is one of the first smartphones along with the Nexus 6P to run Android Marshmallow. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S6 runs on an Android 5.1.1 Lollipop platform combined with Samsung's TouchWiz UX. Samsung's latest Android OS is reported to look better and have less bloatware, making it run more efficiently.
For the price of $379, users can enjoy the LG Nexus 5X with 16 GB memory option while the 32 GB variant is priced at $429. The Samsung Galaxy S6 is offered at $550 for the base 32 GB model.
However, the Samsung Galaxy S6 is superior to the LG Nexus 5X in other categories like display, processor, camera, battery, and memory. The Galaxy S6 flaunts a 5.1" Super AMOLED QHD display that provides excellent image quality while the Google LG Nexus 5X sports a weaker 5.7" IPS display. News site Yibada reported that Samsung's flagship is heavier and smaller than the Nexus 5X.
In terms of processor and graphics, the Samsung Galaxy S6's Exynos 7420 chip wins over the LG Nexus 5X's Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 SoC. The Exynos 7420 is reported to be the leading processor in the industry because it provides better graphics and does not have throttling or overheating problems.
Memory-wise, the Galaxy S6 comes in three storage options of 32 GB, 64 GB, and 128 GB. However, it does not offer memory expansion, same as the LG Nexus 5X which only comes in 16 GB and 32 GB variants. There is only 2 GB of RAM in the LG Nexus 5X, a major letdown for tech fans.
International Business Times reported that the Samsung Galaxy S6 is available for only $469.99 on retailer Expansys for Black Friday. Another smartphone that can be bought for a discounted price of $210 is the Google Nexus 5. It is available for purchase on Newegg.
The LG Nexus 5X can be seen as inferior compared to the specs of the Samsung Galaxy S6. But in a more affordable price, the LG Nexus 5X is a modern flagship smartphone with high-end specs that give users more value for their money.
