Apple iPad Pro users will have every reason to be merry as Apple Pencil comes to Best Buy as its official retailer and partner once again. The Apple Pencil which is an important accessory to the Apple iPad Pro will sell at US$99.99 and will be available only via in-store purchasing.
Vamien McKalin of Tech Times reported that the Apple-Best Buy partnership will help in the former's bid to increase availability of their products. And this time around, Best Buy will be boosting Apple Pencil to increase sales.
McKalin also added that the move made by Apple was in perfect timing. He cited Black Friday and the holiday shopping season as the main reasons for Apple Pencil to make an impact both in sales and on their loyal customers.
Describing the Apple Pencil, McKalin pointed out that the device has less latency. This means that the stylus will be more responsive, thus making it easier to control and to use. He likewise mentioned that the Apple Pencil is pressure sensitive and easy to break.
"The pencil is clearly not meant to be opened or repaired," McKalin quoted iFixit as saying. "You can't get inside without destroying the device," the latter immediately inserted.
Another caveat to the Apple Pencil is its non-replaceable battery. Once the battery starts outputting only 4 hours' charge from its original 12 hours' service life, consumers will have no recourse but to purchase a brand new Apple Pencil, McKalin ended.
In other related news, it wasn't only Apple Pencil that Best Buy accommodated in their store but also Apple Watch.
Clap Way, in their report, said that Apple was facing constraints on its own stores which drove them to team up again with Best Buy to sell their Apple Pencil to the public.
Clap Way also added that when Apple Pencil is used with the iPad Pro, the user experience is fantastic plus the former adapts excellently to the iPad Pro Multi-Touch feature.
And finally for the Apple Pencil, some analysts were taken by surprise by this "accessory". Quoting the late Steve Jobs, Nathan Eddy of Information Week wrote, "if the iPad ever needed to be bundled with a stylus, then it is a failure". The analysts concerned even questioned whether or not the Apple Pencil was "truly groundbreaking".
Adding more triviality to the Apple Pencil is its limited supply plus the possibility that the iPad Pro might also face scarcity. The 128 GB version is commanding a very high demand both in online and in retail stores, according to Eddy, and this will eventually trigger an unexpected slump in supply.
The Apple Pencil as an accessory to the iPad Pro might not come as an immediate necessity to get things done on their new monster tablet. Many iterations of the iPad tablet series have already given testimonies to this and some analysts are speculating about the Pencil's innovativeness.
Apple Pencil has yet to see its real worth in real world applications and if the odds of owning one comes short of its premise and promise, then the late Steve Jobs would have been proven right all along.
