Samsung Galaxy View Specs, Release: Samsung Announces New Tablet To Arrive In US Exclusively Through AT&T

By

Samsung Electronics Company, at a recent electronics and consumer exhibit (IFA) held in Berlin, surprised attendees with a teaser on their upcoming Galaxy View. Shown on the exhibit only as a massive tablet with a kickstand, the mystery device sparked speculations about Samsung's possible foray into the upcoming "big tablet" niche.

Branded as "Galaxy View", the product boasts of a huge 18.6 inches on what could probably be on a slim chassis. Other than this very interesting technical tidbit about the new Samsung tablet, nothing substantial was further added. Even the October introduction of the product, as Samsung announced, was sketchy and neither time nor venue was mentioned, Britta O'Boyle of Pocket-lint noted.

However, O'Boyle pointed out a few details and technical specifications of the giant tablet. For starters, the tablet will be sporting a 1.6 GHz octa-core Exynos processor along with a Mali-T720 GPU and a 32GB storage capacity. It will have a 1.8 GB RAM on-board plus a 5700mAh battery. The huge Samsung Galaxy View (also named Samsung SM-T670) will likewise have a 2-megapixel camera but, according to O'Boyle, will not impress as much. And finally, Android 5.1.1 will be the tablet OS with Android 6.0 to arrive as an OTA (over the air) update soon.

More into Samsung Galaxy View, the behemoth tablet coming soon might have been named, "Samsung Galaxy Tab S Pro"; however, Samsung decided renaming it to "Galaxy View" instead, according to David Curry of Digital Trends. Curry further cited a tablet this huge could make an excellent tool for schools and businesses and even at homes as an entertainment hub.

Samsung Galaxy View might land in the US but only through a single carrier, AT&T, Curry specified. And being FCC verified only proves that the tablet, indeed, is already nearing launch, he added. A bundle release is undetermined yet; however, this move will sweeten the deal more for Samsung Galaxy View giving Apple iPad Pro a run for its money, Curry later injected.

And lastly, the Samsung Galaxy View will be sporting LTE bandwidth from AT&T as confirmed by Derek Walter of Green Bot. He noted that the 18.3-inch tablet has stereo speakers at the back although expressed dismay over the 5700mAh battery and commented, "It is not a lot".

Samsung has been in the big tablet arena for some time against Apple. This gives the former a bigger advantage in delivering better and more innovative technologies to its products. Samsung Galaxy View, despite its less impressive technical specs, might still be able to inch itself farther by delivering something relatively new to this innovation introduced. It all depends on how the unit will address this and how the buying public will receive it.
