Bethesda has released a Thanksgiving-themed update for its first well-received free mobile game app, Fallout Shelter, which is available now for both iOS and Android. Moreover, the highly acclaimed develop ise set to launch the first PC patch this week. .
This latest news has been confirmed via the official Fallout Twitter account where an image is also posted. The said image revealed a host of new Thanksgiving items such as turkeys and pilgrim attire which are now added to Fallout Shelter. On Reddit forums, gamers have started to discuss about the latest update now available for download for iOS and Android devices.
As noted by GameSpot, it appears that Bethesda is up to releasing a regular holiday-themed updates for Fallout Shelter. Back in October, a Halloween update adding cobwebs, costumes, and cauldrons to the game, hence, players can look forward to a Christmas or a New Year's update to follow in December.
Just like the other previous updates and the game itself, this latest update is absolutely free. Bethesda generates revenue from the game with the in-game lunchboxes. A research firm revealed that when the game was first launched back in June to iOS, the developer raked in over $5.1 million sales in a matter of two weeks.
In more related news, the first patch for the epic game hit Fallout 4 is scheduled to hit PC version this week. Expectedly, the fourth installment to the Fallout series still isn't bug-free where several issues, funny or serious glitches, were found by players within the game. Despite Bethesda's assurance of the game as "most robust and solid release ever", there are still some errors which are required to be patched in order to improve the over-all performance of the game.
"It's true that the freedom our games offer you can lead to unintentional consequences that are sometimes bad, when the game combines too many unexpected elements at once," explains Bethesda via its new blog post.
"Given the scale and complexity of the systems at work, especially when allowing you to build your own settlements, we're happy that Fallout 4 is our most robust and solid release ever, and we'd like to thank our amazing QA staff who worked as hard as anyone to break the game so we could fix it during development.
But a hundred testers will never replicate the many millions playing the game now, and we're hard at work addressing the top issues."
The developer has not provided special details on what will be fixed but the blog also confirmed how Bethesda will go over with the upcoming updates stating, "Our process for updating the game will include releasing a beta patch on Steam, followed by full release on PC, then release on the consoles. This process has worked well for us in the past and allows us to get more fixes out faster."
Bethesda added saying, "expect to see more updates, that are smaller and more frequent, than a few big ones. This allows us to make sure each fix is working right, as any change can have unintentional side effects in a game this huge."
The first beta patch is set to arrive this week a couple weeks after Fallout 4's enormous success of its release on Steam over 12 million units shipped since November 10.
