The much anticipated seventh installment of the famed Gran Turismo might be hitting the shelves in 2017. Game developer clarifies Gran Turismo 7 is a standalone game.
During the Paris Game Week, fans were disappointed that instead of declaring the official release date of Gran Turismo 7, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe's President and CEO Jim Ryan announced Gran Turismo Sports instead, according to Vine Report. Ryan gave thin information on the possible release date of GT 7.
However, same site pointed out that developers are doing their best to release the game in 2017 or much earlier than that. Polyphony Digital assured a beta version next year. Ryan expressed confidence that game producer Kazunori Yamauchi will deliver what he said.
Master Herald pointed out that although GT Sports is not a prelude of Gran Turismo 7 but will be released ahead, GT 7 might come out several months after GT Sports be released.
In his recent statement, Yamauchi guaranteed that the waiting will be worth it since the game is Gran Turismo, the site added. Yamauchi hinted that the game will come in the later part of 2016 or early in 2017.
According to Ecumenical News, Ryan explained how GT Sports is different from GT 7. GT Sports is a combined effort with the racing federation Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). On the other hand, Gran Turismo 7 is a separate game from Polyphony Digital. Ryan also made it clear that GT Sports is not a preview to the game series.
Unfortunately, since Sony Computer Entertainment and Polyphonic Digital are tightlipped about the information of Gran Turismo 7, fans cannot do anything but to hold their horses for the seventh installment of the racing franchise and for further updates, wrote Ecumenical News.
Gran Turismo 7 is an approaching racing video game developed by Polyphony Digital and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for PlayStation 4.
