OnePlus 3 Forthcoming? The Buzz Is Strong on OnePlus' Rumored Upcoming Smartphone

By

With the success of OnePlus' previous smartphone offerings, aptly called the OnePlus One and OnePlus 2, the upstart smartphone manufacturer is said to be unveiling soon the next edition of its successful phone model, which will be known of course as OnePlus 3.

This comes on the heels of a statement made by OnePlus CEO and co-founder Carl Pei back in August, as reported by the site AndroidPit that the company was indeed working on a new smartphone. The site also posted a leaked email which talks about an ongoing research and development for an entirely new smartphone.

While speculation has been rife that this smartphone may be the much anticipated OnePlus 3, that is however just one of the rumors floating around regarding the next smartphone OnePlus would be releasing to the market.

Another rumor, based on a reddit conversation, claims however that although OnePlus will soon be releasing a new phone, it will not be a OnePlus 3 but will rather be a midrange version of the OnePlus 2.

Despite the lack of information on this purported phone at the moment, this has not prevented a number of outlets from speculating on the features that are hoped to be included in the rumored phone, regardless if it would be a OnePlus 3 or another model altogether.

One outlet, Techradar, hopes that the rumored OnePlus phone would have, among others, features such as NFC connectivity, better fingerprint scanning technology, QHD screen, expandable storage via a microSD card slot, and wireless charging.

It is also hoped that the phone would be able to work on the issues encountered with the previous OnePlus phone models, namely overheating, a less than desirable battery life, and noticeable lags.

While no details have been provided yet with regards to the availability of the rumored OnePlus 3 or possibly another model altogether, based on the timeframe of the release previous models, the availability of the rumored smartphone may be at around summer of 2016. AndroidPit speculates however, based on the aforementioned email leak, that it would be possible that the phone may be out in the market before the end of 2015.
